Rack & cable attachments

The right attachment can replace a machine. The wrong one becomes heavy, expensive storage.

The question that decides it: Is it compatible, quick to mount and useful enough to avoid becoming expensive wall decor?

Surplus Strength UPS High (Universal Pulley System)
Released

Surplus Strength

UPS High (Universal Pulley System)

$375.00 (sale; $399.00 regular) · Live on Surplus Strength's store at $325.00, down from a $395.00 regular price. Availability is split by colour, re-confirmed Sept 29, 2026: Textured Black is orderable with a visible enabled Add to cart and schema.org/InStock, and Textured Red is sold out (schema.org/OutOfStock at the same $325.00). The product page quotes a 5-7 business day lead time.

A rack-mounted high pulley that adds only 2 inches above the rack, fitting 2x3- or 3x3-inch tubes with 1-inch or 5/8-inch holes. It ships with 4.5-inch heavy-duty thermoplastic pulleys (aluminum is an upgrade), 1/4-inch cable cut to length and two carabiners, in textured black or red with custom colors available. Surplus Strength lists U.S. Patent No. 11,878,205, a lifetime warranty on structural welds and 5 years on pulleys, and states the system is engineered and made in middle Tennessee. A separate UPS Low adds the row position.

Why it matters: Two inches of added height is the number that matters in a garage with a low ceiling — most rack-mounted pulleys cost more headroom than that.

Watch for: Garage Gym Reviews rates the system at 300 lb, calls the pricing high for a plate-loaded setup and cites a $725 starting point that does not match the $325 the UPS High alone lists — confirm which configuration you are actually pricing. The same review notes Rogue multi-grip pull-up bars can interfere, that the low system's foot blades are small, and that Surplus publishes only five-star reviews on its own site and sells through no third-party marketplace, which makes independent verification harder. Lead time is also contested: the product page says 5-7 business days, the review reports made-to-order waits of up to two months. Only the Textured Red colourway is sold out; Textured Black is orderable as of Sept 29, 2026.

Dialed Motion Strap Safeties
Announced

Dialed Motion

Strap Safeties

$359.00 for every configuration (5/8" or 1" rack hardware, 30" or 43" length); straps are now standard rather than a paid option, and the carriages-and-MagPins-only tier has been withdrawn · Still not orderable as of Oct 15, 2026, but the reopening is now dated to the hour and the product has been rebuilt. The store-wide banner reads "Next Preorder 10/20/26 9am PT", replacing the "Next Preorder Oct. 2026" wording this entry recorded on Sept 26, and the only buy control is a visible button reading PREORDER 10/20 that still carries a true disabled attribute (aria-disabled null), identical across three reads 8.5 minutes apart. So the label narrowed and the state did not: ordering has not opened, and 10/20/2026 sits inside the October window Dialed Motion had already published rather than being a slip out of it. The variant set was rebuilt rather than extended. Four variants now exist, not eight, all at a price value of 359.00 USD and all returning available:false, with schema availability OutOfStock on every offer and no contradicting block. Only two option dimensions remain, rack hardware size and length; the strap option is gone, which is what collapsed eight variants to four. Every variant id this index had tracked returns zero occurrences in the page's raw HTML, and the four surviving ids are numerically lower than the deleted ones - on a platform whose ids ascend with creation time that points to the cheaper carriage-only variants having been deleted and the original with-straps set restored ahead of the window, rather than to new variants being minted for it. That reading is an inference from id ordering, not something the page states. Two things could not be read and are not being guessed at: the page exposes no inventory policy or quantity anywhere, so whether overselling is armed for 10/20 is unknown; and the FAQ accordion body rendered no text. Dialed Motion still publishes no ship date for these at all - the only other date in the document is a customer review dated 09/27/2026 - so the window tells a buyer when they can pay, not when anything arrives. The exact strings "October 2026", "Oct 2026", "Oct. 2026" and "Oct '26" in both apostrophe forms all return zero occurrences in rendered text and raw HTML, so the month wording this entry quoted is simply gone, superseded by the dated form.

Four plastic-lined metal carriages (3 lb 3 oz each, 4 inches tall) ride the uprights on integrated magnets that guide them up and down, with four MagPins included and straps optional — 31 inches total strap length on the 30-inch model, 44 inches on the 43-inch. Available in 5/8-inch or 1-inch hardware. Dialed Motion states the system is drop tested to 1,000 lb and designed for racks with 2-inch hole spacing on the sides of the uprights. The brand's specifications panel also publishes the mounting geometry: strap bolt diameter 5/8 inch, and strap-bolt to strap-bolt distance 27.78 inches on the 30-inch model and 40.78 inches on the 43-inch.

Why it matters: Straps catch a missed bar more quietly and more gently than steel, and magnets remove the fumbling that stops people from moving safeties between lifts at all. Dialed Motion is the same shop behind the Multifly prototype tracked below.

Watch for: The cheap way in has been removed. Until Oct 15, 2026 the carriages-and-MagPins-only configuration was the entry point to this product and straps were a paid add-on; that tier no longer exists, straps are now standard (What's Included reads "4X Plastic lined Metal Carriage4X Magpin2X Strap"), and every configuration is the same single price. If you were planning to buy the strapless version, it is not on the table on 10/20. Ordering reopens at a stated 9am PT on 10/20/2026 and this is a batch pre-order on a store that closes between windows, so the practical risk is missing it rather than choosing wrong. Nothing is purchasable before then, and the control is genuinely disabled rather than merely styled that way. There is still no published ship date, which matters more than usual here: the window tells you when money leaves, not when anything arrives, and Dialed Motion has never published a date for these. Ask for one in writing before paying. The 2-inch side hole spacing requirement rules out a lot of racks, and wider spacing costs height adjustability. The weight figure is Dialed Motion's own drop test, not third-party verification.

Dialed Motion Multifly
Prototype

Dialed Motion

Multifly

HomeGymCon preview; targeting a release around late 2027

A quick-dock rack attachment that runs a cable through Dialed Motion's ratchet-based cable retractor, letting it swing from an upright multi-fly/pec-deck position down to a floor-level multi-hip station. It folds flat with a magnetic-hinge backpad, comes off its mount for storage, and takes swappable arm attachments (a wrist-rotation handle shown, more planned). Weighs roughly 35 lb for the head unit; works with any standard 3x3-in upright rather than a proprietary bench interface.

Why it matters: It can add the movement geometry of several selectorized stations — pec deck, rear-delt fly, multi-hip, forearm/wrist work — without permanently occupying the rack or floor, and its cable retractor is already being licensed by other home-gym brands as a cleaner alternative to manually coiling cable.

Watch for: Mounting time, storage, compatibility, resistance curve across positions, arm width, Dialed Motion's production capacity, and — per the founders — whether it ships self-manufactured or through a partner like REP; pricing is still undecided but founders guessed 'right around' $1,000, likely broken into packages by attachment.

Dialed Motion

Cable Retractor™ 2.0

$169.00 · Listed and priced at $169.00 on Dialed Motion's own store but not orderable, re-verified Oct 5, 2026. The only buy control is a visible button with disabled:true, and it now carries a specific date - "PREORDER 10/20", where the Sept 26 check read "PREORDER OCT '26". JSON-LD publishes schema.org/OutOfStock and the store's product data reports available:false. The gating is catalogue-wide rather than specific to this product: all 16 products on the store render the same "PREORDER 10/20" control under a site-wide banner reading "Next Preorder 10/20/26 9am PT", so nothing on Dialed Motion is buyable today.

A ratchet-based cable retractor sold as a standalone component rather than inside a finished machine. The brand's framing is explicit: "To allow you to design your own cable systems, we decided to make each of our components available separately." It keeps the cable tensioned, makes height adjustment quick, and extends the cable to other accessories with the flip of a switch.

Published specifications for the 2.0: product weight 3.75 lb, dimensions 7.5 x 5.75 x 1.875 in, retractor cable length 21 ft, Maximum Working Load 200 lb, statically tested to over 1,200 lb without failure. What's included is one retractor and nothing else. SKU CR2.

What the 2.0 changes over the 1.0, in the brand's own words: a removable cable ball end that "can be removed with an Allen key, allowing the cable to pass through rack holes and small openings", and a thinner cable — outer diameter reduced from 4.0 mm to 3.5 mm — for flexibility and less resistance in longer or more complex routing.

Two generations are listed at once. The Cable Retractor™ 1.0 (SKU F10001, $135.00) is still on the store, and its specifications panel publishes an older figure, "Weight Capacity: 300 lbs", with none of the 2.0 page's Load Rating & Testing explanation. The 2.0 page states the reconciliation directly: "Earlier versions of this product page referenced higher load capacities based on our internal static testing. As our testing program has evolved, we have adopted more conservative working-load ratings based on applicable ISO stationary training equipment safety factors and endurance testing." The 200 lb figure is the brand's current rating; the 300 lb figure is the one it says it has moved away from.

The compatibility note is the part to read before ordering, and the brand states it plainly: the retractor is designed to mount to Dialed Motion's own Load Pin or Trolley. Using it with equipment outside that system requires a Carabiner Adapter or a Threaded Adapter — separate purchases the headline price does not include. All four exist on the store: Carabiner Adapter $15.00, Threaded Adapter $29.00, Load Pin 2.0 $45.00, Trolley 2.0 $269.00.

Why it matters: The index has been describing this component inside three separate entries while never tracking it. The Multifly entry calls the retractor the mechanism that attachment runs its cable through and notes it "is already being licensed by other home-gym brands"; the REP x Dialed Motion Leg Developer entry describes "using a retractor for fast stack connection". The catalog was using a product as a reference point for other products without carrying it. It also answers a question the index keeps circling — whether cable resistance is an accessory purchase or a rack purchase — with the cheapest published figure in that space. The honest version of that answer is the one the brand's own compatibility note gives: $169.00 buys the retractor, and the retractor does nothing without the rest of the system. A minimum working setup adds a Load Pin at $45.00 or a Trolley at $269.00, or an adapter for third-party equipment.

Watch for: Nothing on this store can be bought today - the whole 16-product catalogue is preorder-gated behind a stated window of 10/20/26 9am PT, so the date to act on is the window, not this product. The Cable Retractor 1.0 this entry used to compare against has been delisted. The previously recorded "superseded 1.0 still listed separately at $135.00 against a $169.00 compare-at" is no longer true and the $135.00/$169.00 pair no longer exists anywhere on the site. Absence verified three ways on-domain on Oct 5, 2026: /collections/all returns 16 items with no 1.0, the on-site search for "cable retractor" returns 7 results with no 1.0, and /products.json?limit=250 returns 16 products with exactly one title matching retractor - the 2.0. So there is no longer a cheaper older version to fall back to. This brand's figures required two consecutive daily checks before being treated as real, after a price evaporated inside 24 hours in August. That condition is now satisfied and the caveat is cleared: $169.00 has held in Dialed Motion's own product data on seven consecutive daily reads, Oct 3 through Oct 9, 2026, with compare_at_price null throughout and no checkout discount - a three-layer test on Oct 5 (rendered, deep-DOM including shadow roots, and raw HTML) returned zero occurrences of every discount phrase tested. Treat $169.00 as the brand's real published figure. What remains unresolved is not the price but the purchase: the single buy control has been visible and disabled since Oct 3, and schema.org/OutOfStock and available:false have agreed with it on every one of those seven reads.

Mythic Equipment Height-Adjusting J-Cups
Prototype

Mythic Equipment

Height-Adjusting J-Cups

Patent-pending HomeGymCon debut, still unreleased and still unpriced, re-verified Oct 1, 2026 on the brand's own site. Mythic's storefront is password-locked and not selling — the brand states "Because the products are not for sale yet." — but its FAQ now answers several buying questions directly. Compatibility is narrower than the show suggested: Mythic says it "will be focusing exclusively on 1\" racks and attachments", so no 5/8\" hardware is planned at all. There will be no pre-order for the first run — "Our initial round of products (Spotter Arms, J-Cups, Roller J-Cups) will not be launching on pre-order" — with an email list getting first access to launch units instead, so availability will be a queue rather than a reservation. First-round shipping is to the contiguous United States only with no local pick-up, and manufacturing has moved from Mexico to China. No prices are published anywhere yet. The launch lineup is four named SKUs: Height-Adjusting Spotter Arms (Standard Length), Height-Adjusting Spotter Arms (Shorty Length), Height-Adjusting Standard J-Cups and Height-Adjusting Roller J-Cups.

Magnetic micro-adjustment brings roughly 1-in positioning to racks with 2-in hole spacing; standard and roller versions are rated to 1,000 lb.

Why it matters: Small height changes can materially improve unracking for bench and squat, especially across many differently sized clients.

Watch for: The rack-fit question this entry carried is now answered, and the answer narrows things: Mythic will build for 1" racks only and says it will never offer a 5/8" option, which rules the line out for a large share of home racks before any other consideration. Check your upright hardware size first. There is also no pre-order for the first run, so plan on joining the email list rather than reserving a unit. Note the brand distinguishes Standard J-Cups from Roller J-Cups as separate launch SKUs, where this entry tracks only "J-Cups". Pin security, clearance, UHMW coverage, upright wear and independent verification of the load rating all remain unverified, and no price exists to compare against.

Mythic Equipment Height-Adjusting Spotter Arms
Prototype

Mythic Equipment

Height-Adjusting Spotter Arms

HomeGymCon debut, still unreleased and still unpriced, re-verified Oct 1, 2026 on the brand's own site. The brand confirms two lengths at launch, Standard and Shorty, named as separate SKUs.

Reversible low-profile arms use an additional magnetic pin to create finer height placement and are listed at 1,000 lb.

Why it matters: Fine safety height can mean better range of motion without losing protection, particularly for benching.

Watch for: Two of this entry's open questions are answered. Length: there are two, Standard and Shorty, sold as separate SKUs. Rack compatibility: 1" racks only, with Mythic stating it will focus exclusively on 1" racks and attachments, so a 5/8" option is not planned at all — check your upright hardware size before anything else. There is also no pre-order for the first run, so plan on joining the email list rather than reserving a unit. Installation speed, left/right consistency and proof of the load rating all remain unverified, and no price exists to compare against.

JD Gym Equipped Adjustable Rotating Pull-Up Handles
Announced

JD Gym Equipped

Adjustable Rotating Pull-Up Handles

HomeGymCon release. Still not located as a purchasable SKU: as of Sept 17, 2026 no product on jdgymequipped.com contains the word "Rotating", and the site's only pull-up handle product is a different item (see watchFor).

Clamp-on handles can lock at several angles or rotate freely on an existing pull-up bar or crossmember.

Why it matters: One attachment can serve neutral, angled and rotating grips without replacing a rack crossmember.

Watch for: Do NOT equate this with JD Gym Equipped's "Adjustable Angle Pull-Up Handles" ($420.00, made to order, out of stock but available for pre-order, 7-8 week lead time). Re-checked in full on Sept 17, 2026: that product's complete configurator offers Handle size (1.25" Stationary Handles or 1" Stationary Handles), Mount Type (3x3-1", 3x3-5/8", or pull-up bar mount at +$40.00) and Knurl Pattern (semi or extremely aggressive at +$20.00) — every handle option is stationary, and the words rotating, rotate, rotation, swivel, pivot and articulating each return zero occurrences in the rendered page, the live DOM and the raw HTML. Rotation is the defining feature claimed here, so the two are not the same product and the $420.00 price does not belong to this entry. Clamp security, grip spacing, rotation smoothness, ceiling clearance and crossmember fit all remain unverified.

REP Central Leg Roller
Announced

REP

Central Leg Roller

REP's original teaser (July/Summer 2026) still has no dedicated product page as of Aug 2026, but REP's new-products page now lists two related pre-order attachments — 'Adjustable Bench Leg Roller Attachment 2.0' and 'Leg Extension & Leg Curl Bench Attachment' — that may or may not be the same item under new naming. Price and ship date not yet confirmed for either.

A two-upright central roller with multiple adjustment points and a listed 500-lb capacity.

Why it matters: Two-upright support should feel more stable than a single-side roller for pulldowns, split squats and bracing.

Watch for: Rack space consumed, adjustment speed, minimum and maximum height, pad length and price.

Aluminum handles use an offset pivot to turn cable tension into palm pressure and an angled pad for a more natural wrist position.

Porter Physed Fitness V-Wing
Released

Porter Physed Fitness

V-Wing

$300.00 · Listed on Porter Physed Fitness's own store at $300.00 USD, verified Oct 1, 2026, and currently sold out in both colourways. The brand's product data reads available:false on both Black and Silver, the visible cart control is disabled and labelled "Sold Out", and the schema availability is OutOfStock on both offers — control and structured data agree, so there is no ambiguity. compare_at is null, so $300.00 is a clean list price with no sale involved. This moves the entry off the show listing: it is a real retail product that is temporarily unbuyable, not a concept.

A four-hole rotating cable wing that shifts the axis for curls, pressdowns and rows.

Why it matters: It offers multiple force and wrist positions in one compact handcrafted attachment.

Watch for: The price question this entry carried is answered: $300.00 USD for either colourway. Restocking is the open question, and it should be read against the maker's scale rather than as a warning sign — most of the hard goods in Porter's twenty-product catalogue are sold out at any given time, which reads as a small-batch maker's normal cadence rather than a discontinuation. Porter publishes that it is handcrafted, with four polished stainless steel holes for rotation, hand-ground edges and a stonewashed finish, and offers a leather colour upgrade arranged by email after ordering, so the finish you receive may involve a conversation rather than a configurator. Learning curve, attachment weight, and whether the four positions create distinct enough training benefits all remain untested, and there is no reviewer coverage.

Kodo Gi Grips Rack-Attached Climbing Holds
Announced

Kodo Gi Grips

Rack-Attached Climbing Holds

$109.00 · Jug hold listed at $109.00 per pair on the maker own store, re-verified Oct 18, 2026 at an unchanged price (the stored address redirects to the www form, which is the page canonical). Availability has IMPROVED and the entry earlier reading is now wrong on one variant: TWO of the four jug variants are buyable, not one. Both 5/8-inch hardware options are live — Kodo Blue and Stealth Mode — while both 1-inch options remain unbuyable. Each row was produced by selecting that variant and reading the checked input, the form id value, the resulting variant parameter in the URL, the price and the control state in a single execution, never from a CSS class. The two 5/8-inch variants render "Regular price $109.00 USD" with an enabled "Add to cart" (no disabled attribute, aria-disabled absent, offsetParent non-null); the two 1-inch variants render the same figure followed by "Sold out" with a control carrying a true disabled attribute. This is a genuine restock rather than a preorder: the store own public storefront data reports both buyable variants as available for sale with the back-order flag FALSE, and reports both 1-inch variants as not available for sale at all, which is only reachable under a deny policy at or below zero. Exact unit counts are not readable from outside and none is claimed. The structured data has also CHANGED SHAPE: the page no longer carries four separate contradictory Product blocks but a single ProductGroup node whose hasVariant array holds four Product/Offer entries keyed by variant id, still one-to-one onto the four variants, now splitting two OutOfStock (both 1-inch) and two InStock (both 5/8-inch). A separate rating-only Product node carries no offers and so contributes no availability contradiction. Default-checked options are unchanged at 5/8-inch and Kodo Blue, which is a buyable combination, so the enabled control you land on is legitimate.

Polyurethane jug and sphere holds fit 3×3 crossmembers with either 5/8- or 1-in hardware. Kodo Gi sells the jug under the retail title "Jug Climbing Hold Rack Attachment" and lists a companion "Climbing Sphere Rack Attachment" for open-handed grip work, confirming this is a series rather than a single hold. Sold as pairs, in Kodo Blue or Stealth Mode.

Why it matters: They add scalable grip and tendon training to the rack without a separate climbing board.

Watch for: Two buying facts worth knowing. The $109.00 is for a pair, not a single hold — the page states "Sold as pairs" and the contents line reads "(2) Climbing Jug Holds with custom 1″ or 5/8″ mounting bolt and protective backings" — so a rack setup using both a jug pair and a sphere pair is two purchases. And availability is still variant-deep, just less restrictive than before: if you need 1-inch hardware the jug is unavailable to you in either colour, while both 5/8-inch finishes are in stock. The visible "Variant sold out or unavailable" label is a badge on individual radio options and never a statement about the product as a whole — and its placement MOVES with the selected hardware, which is the theme ambiguity that blocked an earlier read. No radio input is ever disabled on this theme; only the submit button flips, so the button is the authoritative control. Two catalogue facts previously carried here belong to OTHER products and are corrected. The White Sand colourway is not offered on the jug at all — the jug Color option declares exactly Kodo Blue and Stealth Mode — it is a Sphere Climbing Hold variant. And the Climbing Hold Pinch Block prices belong to that product own listing, where the two narrower widths are available and the widest is NOT, so the earlier note that all of them were in stock no longer holds. Texture comfort, spin resistance, hardware fit, clearance and sensible progression for elbows and fingers all remain untested. The brand own retail name is "Jug Climbing Hold Rack Attachment"; this entry title comes from the show listing.
